On the day that the House of Representatives passed an anti-online casinos bill, stocks related to online casinos on the London Stock Exchange plummeted. The same thing occurred when the U.S. Senate passed the same bill. Online gambling was dealt a further terrific blow when the U.S. president, George Walker Bush, signed the anti-online casinos bill into law. In almost one fell swoop, the modern system of online casinos banking and gaming was swept away, and a new online gambling order has since taken its place.
Stocks for online casinos companies such as Party Gaming, listed on the LSE, have not been dealt existential blows to their stocks. However, the events related to the U.S. deciding to take down online casinos gambling have had the effect of tying up online casinos execs from the European Union and even associated countries with the EU which have similar laws or viewpoints on online casinos. To say that online casinos stocks in the U.S. plummeted would be to accept that online casinos stocks have been legally able to list, which in all likelihood they haven't.
The end is not nigh for online casinos, but they will certainly have it tough going for a while until they get their steam back. Expect the United Kingdom, seat of so many online casinos stocks, to become the new promised land for the online casinos industry. And one day, if the United States want to come back to the world of online gambling, expect the people to be welcomed but the government likely to be shunned.
