The stars came out last weekend to support American troops leaving for and returning from service in the Middle East when the Bodog online casinos site hosted a “Salutes the Troops” online casinos charity event on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. The 8,000 Army, Marines, Air Force and Navy personnel based at Pearl Harbor, Hickam Air Force Base, the Schofield Barracks and the Kaneohe Marine Corps Base as well as their family members attending the online casinos hosted event were treated to an opening by MTV personality Carson Daly, musical performances by rap star Snoop Dogg and Bif Naked, comedic performances by Paul Rodriguez, Colin Quinn and Wanda Sykes, as well as a special guest appearance by reality TV show star and local Hawaiian celebrity Dog the Bounty Hunter. The concert was held at the World Famous Waikiki Shell, and drew a great response from the audience, achieving the uplifting goal that the online casinos organizer of the event, Bodog, wanted to achieve.
"It's a beautiful feeling to be appreciated and come out and give the troops something to smile about and something to dance to," said Snoop Dogg. "I'm down to do it again whenever, however, forever, all the time.”
One of the special focuses of the online casinos sponsored event other than the concert was to raise money for charity - and since Bodog is an online casinos site that specializes in poker, an inter-service poker tournament was held during the “Bodog Salutes the Troops: A Tribute to American Heroes” online casinos event. It was during this poker tournament, overseen by respected poker tournament director Matt Savage, when troops from all branches of the United States military were given the opportunity by the Bodog online casinos organizers to play their poker hands and test their poker skills against actresses like Estella Warren (Planet of the Apes, The Cooler), Shannon Elizabeth (American Pie, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back) as well as actors Dule Hill (The West Wing), Joshua Malina (The West Wing) and Jorge Garcia (Lost).
