Online casinos have only been around a decade or so but gambling has been around since the dawn of civilization. From the very first time someone said, “I bet you...” gambling has been part and parcel of human societies to varying degrees. What degrees and levels they have played a part as depended largely on the moods of the various eras human history has seen, the moral codes and conservatism or liberalism of the age, the games and contests under consideration for betting, and much more.
Online casinos have managed to secure for the moment at least a firm place in the gambling culture of our fair planet. Without online casinos it is doubtful that gambling in general would have survived in the public’s consciousness the way it has. This is because in a computing-oriented culture, people spend so much time on their computers that without at least having some computer presence gambling at casinos in general would likely suffer the kind of decline that other habits have in the information age.
We spend less time reading, more time watching TV.
