 | AzbarAmerica Introduces POS Terminal
15 Dec 2004
The stainless steel encased terminal is the first system
specifically designed for behind the bar applications, and fills
the void normally associated with all current restaurant POS /cash
register systems. This is accomplished by providing a full back
office reporting package that includes inventory, including reorder
status against PAR, employee sales and comps, and for the
accounting department, a report that includes the companies profits
for each product sold. Four different levels of tax information
combined with the ability to separate cost centers within locations
allow unmatched accountability within a companies operation.
Accounting errors are virtually eliminated because the drink is
being rung up into the terminal AS it is being poured, without the
server having to touch a button to record the sale. Now companies
can track individual profits by product name or group, plus have
the ability to specify which brand name of liquors go into
cocktails, maximizing their profits and stabilizing their pour
cost. These reports are customized to each individual customers
needs instead of a canned reporting package. Customers report that
the unit saves at least 15 hours a week in management time by
having the ability to retrieve these reports at the touch of a
button, instead of the tedious manual calculations typically used
in the past. For operators with multiple locations, they are able
to track all of these functions from a centralized office. Users
report that their customers love the consistency of recipes and
pricing of the drinks being ordered. Now their specialty drinks are
the same no matter who is pouring them behind the bar. The time to
training new bar staff is cut substantially because you can program
up to 255 cocktail recipes into the system. If a bartender is
unfamiliar with the ingredients of a certain cocktail, all they
have to do is touch a button and it will tell them what bottles to
pick up, and pour the correct amount at the right price. Inventory
control and product consistency have plagued the behind the bar
operations in the hospitality industry for years. With declining
profits and increasing costs on the food and labor side, many
owners have been looking for a solution to increase profits, and
they had all but given up in the bar area, which many times is the
source of their biggest revenues, and losses. . Since the revenues
from a single the a single gallon of liquor can exceed $300.00,
companies have realized that they do not want their profits going
down the drain The hospitality Industry can finally utilize todays
technologies in sophisticated inventory methods to increase their
bottom line, from a easy to use system to operate The terminals are
available in four different platforms allowing each operation to
chose the unit which best fits their needs. The ability to also
pick which way to dispense the products is another plus since you
can chose between a variety of methods from a programmable spout
that goes on bottles, to the High Speed Cocktail tower, which pours
recipes of up to 64 individual liquors, sodas, and juices through
individual lines at the touch of a button, in about a second. They
also offer solutions for draft beer with beer heads that not only
pour the correct amount but also ties into the same complete
inventory package as the liquor. They also have been very
successful in the wine by the glass market since the spouts are not
only airtight increasing shelf life of open bottles of wine, but
because of the ability to program into the spout the brand and
pricing of individual wines by name, operators can now offer more
selections to their customers. Happy hour pricing is also a big
plus since the unit will automatically change pricing of products
at the time of happy hour, and go back to original pricing at the
end of the promotion. Security is also increased since the unit
will automatically turn off at closing and not allow any products
to be poured through the dispensers. So after-hours liability is
reduced, and clean up crew theft is deterred. |
